We are a kindergarten family from a small town in the Florida panhandle. We are in a Title I school that also has several military families. We are curious, engaged, driven, compassionate, and excited to learn about each other, the world, and ourselves.
Our class loves to create, express, learn, and celebrate our individual milestones we encounter weekly.
Together, we learn how to read and write, as well as understand math, beginning introduction to science, and social studies themes throughout the year.
My Project
My students currently sit at very old, worn, wobbly tables. The space in my classroom is very limited, and having various sizes and types of tables have really blocked the flow of our classroom. I have noticed that my tables prevent my students from being successful in beginning writing skills because they wobble and cause them to make mistakes. They become discouraged and it takes a lot of motivation to have them try again, in spite of the unstable tables.
Bringing in new tables to our classroom will promote collaboration, give us adequate space, and give us room to grow and share.
Kindergarten is really about mastering social skills. These tables will encourage sharing and learning together, as well as giving them a stable surface for our fine motor development.
