My Students

I have the amazing opportunity to teach second graders. My students have special gifts and talents. They teach me skills and abilities everyday. What they teach me most is how to push through and not give up no matter what the difficulties are that you face.

I work at a Title I charter school that is dedicated to teaching students who are on the autism spectrum, as well as those who have ADHD and other learning and behavior difficulties.

No matter the difficulties that they face, my students come to school everyday with a smile on their faces. They are ready and excited to learn! Learning can be a challenge at times for my students; however, they never give up and keep pushing through.

Just as my students never give up, they teach me to not give up as well. I want to give my students the best learning environment possible, a place where technology, information, and experience are abundant and allows them to follow their dreams and learn all that is out there. They want to succeed and I want them to succeed. Thank you for helping us do so!

My Project

As we are a school for students with autism, my students need a lot more room then they currently have. Our classroom is small and we are currently using huge tables. Unfortunately, my students struggle with personal space so I can only have two students per table.

I want my students to be able to have their own personal space, while staying organized.

With tote trays and desks, my students will be able to work on those needed skills to be successful. We would also like name plates and name plate covers so students have manipulatives at their desks to use whenever they need.
