Rolling Toward Better Recess

My Project

Recess is one of the most important parts of the school day. It gives children a chance to move, play, build friendships, practice teamwork, and simply enjoy being kids. At our school, approximately 600 students depend on our recess equipment every day - but our only recess cart is broken and no longer usable.

Our school serves a high number of students from low-income families, and we work hard to make sure every child has access to the supplies and experiences they need to thrive.

A new recess cart filled with balls, hula hoops, and other active-play equipment would give our students more opportunities to participate in meaningful, inclusive play.

For many of our students, school is where they have access to these kinds of resources. Providing a well-stocked recess cart would allow students to choose activities, discover new interests, play with friends, and develop important skills such as cooperation, communication, problem-solving, and perseverance.
