Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

Our school is amazing! As you can see, we're close to 90% free and reduced lunch, but our children SUCCEED! Why? Because of high expectations from their teachers and the total infusion of technology in every grade level. Our students complete PowerPoint presentations on alphabets, make movies where they act the roles of our Founding Fathers, and much more. Not only do we complete all these things at school, but we're proud that our community takes such an active role as well. From our "Rally for Excellence" at the beginning of the year that brought service groups and our families together, to our annual Heroes and She-roes, where we recognize those in our community for going above and beyond, our students are benefiting from these experiences. To continue to achieve the dreams and goals of our community, we need the basic everyday items to go along with our technology items. Things suchs as digital video tapes, blank CDs, and blank DVDs will allow us to provide copies of all the great things our students are doing. It will also put a copy of those things in each child's hands, so they can show their own families. Please help us help them! Thank you!
