My Students

I work in a preschool classroom with 3, 4 and 5 year olds. My classroom is in our district's elementary school which includes preschool through 3rd grades. Our school has a family-like atmosphere and we have a classroom full of children who not only attend school together, but many of their parents attended school together as well. Half of my students attend all day and the others come half day in either the morning or afternoon class. They love learning new things and becoming independent.

My Project

One of the favorite centers in my preschool classroom is definitely the dramatic play area. The children love to pretend to be mommies and daddies taking care of their babies or construction workers going to the job site. This area in our classroom always has the homey items like a kitchen and play food. And as we teach various subjects, we like to enhance the dramatic play area with props that go along with our theme. The costumes for this project will enable our students to have a more realistic role play experience. Especially when we talk to them about community helpers.
