My Project

Rocking to Understanding is the last piece needed for my classroom reading nook. The rocking gaming chair will give students a comfortable seating option while reading. The seat will also give them the movement they seek to increase their engagement with academics and increase their understanding. By offering a "fun" seating option, I hope students will be more willing to read and find the act of reading can be enjoyable.

The reading nook I am creating will be a space for my high-risk students to engage with reading as a means to gain information, but also a strategy to be used to manage their strong emotions.
