The Isaiah 117 House was founded in Carter County, Tennessee. Its mission is to provide a comforting home where children can wait as they enter foster care. They have prepared a place that is safe with friendly and loving volunteers who attend to all of the children’s needs. Children can stay while the child welfare staff does the necessary paperwork and identifies a good placement. There are two locations in Elizabethton, Tennessee.
The EHS art department strongly supports this labor of love.
We want to share our artistic skills by reaching beyond our classroom. There are a growing number of local children entering foster care. This impacts the Elizabethton City Schools. Please help us create a rock garden at both of the local Isaiah 117 House properties. My art students will paint rocks to fill a large wooden planter. These planters will also be custom painted. Guests of the houses may admire them or take one upon their journeys. This will be an excellent way for my students to pay their artistic voices forward! This will be a fun community collaboration that will bless all involved. Please help us bring this great idea to action!
