Our high school is in the process of integrating Project-Based Learning initiatives. As an art teacher, I am eager to collaborate with my colleagues to foster increased learning and real-world connections. Our art room is simply out-of-date and filled with old, stained, student desks that are in ill-repair. My average class size is around 25 students. They sit in boring rows and have little space to exercise their creativity. My students would absolutely love to be afforded the opportunity to have desks that enable them to collaborate as well as provide flexible seating options. My students are eager to learn and explore their artistic opportunities. Our current furniture limits their artistic potential and collaborative options.
