This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Help my students obtain rocks so that we may truly understand how they are formed and how they change forms as well. It is hard to teach them when they do not have the rocks in front of them. Most students learn better when they are able to conduct research in a hands on way.

We also need rocks for the Unit on Natural Resources and their uses.

We need the coal, limestone and granite for the study on Va. Resources. They do not understand how drastically different the state is from one side to the other. The rocks will help them understand it a bit better and give them a tangible way to study the resources.
