"All children are capable of success. No exceptions!" Each and every morning, my students begin the day saying this powerful statement. My class is about empowering students to find their success on a daily basis while facilitating collaborative learning opportunities.
I work with a diverse group of students who thrive on meaningful learning opportunities.
I am looking to ignite a passion for learning that goes beyond the classroom. In order to achieve this goal, I want to be able to give my students more book choices during their independent work times. Giving students a choice helps motivate them as they work to do their best.
My Project
My project is all about books! As a reading teacher, I am working on engaging my students through text that is not only of high-interest but also at their reading level. The texts that I have selected are leveled for the students for use in my classroom library. Giving my students access to these books will directly support my reading and writing workshops in the classroom.
Providing real-world literature for students engages students in the world around them.
In order to give my students access to real-world text, I am also requesting a subscription to TIME for Kids magazine. A paper magazine will come to my classroom on a bi-monthly basis. I am looking forward to using these texts as part of my reading and writing workshops.
