My Students

My classroom consists of fourteen creative and active first graders. My goal this year is to create an environment that inspires joy and happiness for all of my students.

As a teacher, I'm looking for the best way to encourage learning.

These students are always eager to learn and are excited to be in school this year.

Over 50% of our students qualify for free/reduced lunches and 100% live in a rural Kansas area without access to urban amenities and experiences. Our needs are greater than ever because of anticipated budgetary concerns but our classroom needs remain the same if not greater than before.

My Project

This year we have some unique needs because of the social distancing requirements. I want to keep my students safe and healthy so for a majority of the day, they are stationary to maintain social distancing. During these times, it can be a challenge to sit and focus for extended periods. For this reason, I am looking for flexible seating options at their desk that provides them comfort while allowing them to move and focus.

Our students are sitting at their desk more this year than ever due to social distancing requirements.

This is especially difficult for first graders who need movement to focus and learn. These wobble cushions would allow them to be productive while at their desk. They allow students to move and wiggle but remain seated. These wobble cushions attach right onto their chair and give students the opportunity to focus while remaining active.
