It truly felt like Christmas when our new drum arrived! The fact that it was a big box caused extra anticipation in the students as we started to open it! They were excited to see the beautiful colors on it and to hear about the African countries where the djembe is a native instrument.\r\n We have been having fun learning about steady beat and experimenting with a variety of rhythms on the djembe. It has been a hit for all ages of my elementary students. We are planning on using it at our spring program this year so that our community can enjoy it as well.\r\n My classes are always amazed when I share with them the names and locations of all the people supporting their music program.
