This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach students in East Oakland! We are a Dual Language Immersion School! We speak English and Spanish and we want to have fun this year singing our way through the California State Standards, Social Emotional Learning, and almost anything we can turn into a song. We're going to be singing so much that you're going to think I am teaching the next Jonas Brother or Ariana Grande or Komander. It's going to be lit for these students, but low key they are going to learn English with me playing the guitar and singing things to them every day as often as they let me.

My Project

Yeah yeah yeah, I've heard it before. School is B.O.R.I.N.G. but whatever loser, ok? I am going to make it awesome and exciting and musical for two groups of 2nd grade students at Global Family Elementary School in Oakland!

I hope to use the guitar to help teach English with songs, jam through transition times, and maybe even sing a happy birthday or two.

You maybe had a teacher who played guitar at your school. I am hoping to be that awesome for my students this year too. I hope I can count on your support! Keep me rocking, dude.
