Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 8th-grade cluster is made up of students from a wide variety of backgrounds. In my school, over 75% of students receive free or reduced-price lunch. This means that many do not have the basic supplies that we take for granted.

Like all 8th graders, my kids love to create and explore!

One of my personal goals is to find ways to reduce my carbon footprint and use less paper in the classroom. This is not always easy in a math class.

Connecting science, technology, engineering, and math, (STEM) is so important and helps kids explore the concepts on a deeper level.

My Project

As we move toward a more conservation conscious world and we try to teach our children to recycle and reuse, I look for ways to use less paper in the classroom. The Rocketbook Smart Notebook allows my students to take notes that can be saved on Google Drive and/or Evernote.

With a digital notebook, students can keep their notes more organized and for years to come!

Teaching STEM in today’s math classroom is essential. Integrating technology into the lesson plans and showing students technology available can only make them better ready to handle high school, college and the job market.

Having Rocketbooks in the class will bring us closer to a true STEM classroom. I plan to start small and slowly increase the number of Rocketbooks I have available for my students throughout this year. Hopefully in time, I can get enough for all of my students.
