Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My band program is still recovering from the pandemic. Our band numbers are small but are growing. We have a lot of inexperienced musicians. I need to give them some music that has flexible instrumentation due to the instrumentation and varying ability levels. My students have requested to play Twist and Shout, Mustang Sally, and the theme from Star Wars.

Flexible instrumentation music will help my students prepare to have a concert in the springtime.

This music is going to be the foundation for learning these next few months. The flex music will be perfect so all students will be able to learn and play the music successfully.
