My Students
"It's okay to not know, but it's not okay to not try." Sometimes, it is difficult to find what motivates students these days. However, I found that if you make anything interactive available to your students, they become motivated quickly.
In my self-contained, special ed.
classroom are lower level students, who lack the self-esteem and basic skills to succeed in the general ed. classroom. They attend a school where about 40% of the population receive free and reduced lunch. Also, the ESOL population is about 60%.
My Project
My students have difficultly in keeping their attention on one thing at a time. I have requested a Nook, Nook cover, and a beanbag chair. With the help of a Nook and cover, my students will be able to have multiple attention grabbing learning opportunities. The option of different seating will provide my students a new perspective in the lesson.
The supplies in my project will allow my students to become more independent in their special education self-contained classroom.
Many interactive websites and audiobooks will be effective in their education.
