This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Did you ever wish you could be in a real band? My students have that opportunity with Rock Camp!

My students come from a small, agriculture-based town where the majority of families are low-income.

There are few cultural experiences available, such as coffee house poetry readings or open-mic nights. The teenagers love music, and learning an instrument creates a positive, self-motivated individual.

My Project

My students need a G-Tour Slant Top Mixer Rack so they can play rock shows throughout the local community! I use my years of experience as a professional, touring musician so students can collaborate and actually perform rock songs as a group. Students learn guitar, bass, keyboard, percussion, and vocal parts, and then perform live... just like a real band. We need a mobile rack to add to the P.A. system so my students can share the experience throughout the community!

Learning and playing music in general helps adolescents in many ways.

Peer interaction, confidence, an engaging interest in school, and the increased ability to listen carefully are all honest benefits of music education. Music, especially the collaboration of Rock Camp, allows students to make lifelong friends.
