My Students

If you have ever listened to country music, you are hearing the anthems of our school. We are a small town, where you don't meet too many strangers, and the kids are raised with deep roots. These kids know what it means to work hard for the things they want and believe in. Our students support each other through life's ups and downs. They help each other through their trials and triumphs.

As amazing as living in a small town sounds, we do face challenges.

Small town living doesn't always give very many students the opportunity to see the world beyond the city limit sign. Through education and educational opportunities, my students have come to enjoy learning and experiencing the world from this small town view. I have been able to teach them about the way the world works from tiny atoms to careers that will take them to the stars. Being a teacher has allowed me to spark inspiration and drive critical thinking. My students have started to open their minds to a world of possibilities, allowing them to see the opportunities and possibilities beyond a small town city limit sign.

My Project

Every student comes to a place in time when they need to figure out what they would like their future to be in this world. This project will give students within our school this opportunity by learning to become robotics engineers and programmers.

Engineers and programmers have become a much needed resource within our society, and by providing a robotics kit to my students they will have the ability to explore and create what their imagination has to offer.

This project will also allow these students see if robotics, engineering, and programming is a career path they would like to pursue as they begin to make their way in the world.

This project will be a part of a makerspace that our school is putting together to bring STEAM into the classroom, allowing students the opportunity to put a variety of skills, interests, passions, and education together in one place. I want my students to understand that their future can only be limited by their imagination. I want my students to understand that they can become whatever they want within our technology driven 21st century world, even if they are from a small town.
