My Project

My students have been coding & programming for the last 10 years. We then use our coding skills to program robots. We use Sphero Mini robots with older students, but these Sphero Indi robots are able to be used by our youngest engineers, as well as our oldest engineers! These robots require more simple tech skills that can be done by our younger students. This will not only strengthen my younger students' knowledge of technology and coding but also their problem solving, collaboration, and creativity skills. All of these skills are essential for the future workforce of innovative scientists and engineers. These skills will also be beneficial for any career my students choose to follow.

The beauty of coding and robotics is that these activities touch upon all parts of the curriculum.

Coding and robotics involve science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). They also include literacy and communication skills that must be learned and utilized.

What is the best part of robotics and coding? It is fun and my students love it! Kids having fun and learning is exactly the way science is supposed to be done!

Many children in the United States do not get the proper exposure to a quality STEM curriculum. Currently, there is a shortage of engineers in this country. My objective is to get my students excited about engineering and STEM careers which will be an important and essential part of a brighter future for them and the entire world!
