My students need the Programmable Mouse and Bee-Bots to practice logic and sequencing skills as we dive into the world of coding and programming.
This project expired on May 18, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students range from age 5 - 11. I teach a special called Project Based Learning/STEM and see every student in our school, about 1150 of them! I teach students who speak English, and I teach students who primarily speak one of 30 plus other languages. I teach students who are gifted. I teach students who are on grade level. I teach students who are struggling. I teach students with special needs. I teach students who talk way too much, and students who are selectively mute. I teach students with an amazing family dynamic, with a parent who greets them when they get home, and I teach students who have no one at home and have to take care of their younger siblings in the evenings.
I am inspired every day by my students.
They are creative, fun, energetic, and most of all eager. They are thirsty for knowledge and full of questions. I hope to encourage them to find their own answers and use twenty first century skills within the walls of my classroom and outside of them.
Students will be able to use these programmable robots in the classroom for hands on programming practice before they use these skills online. These will also help to prepare students for our 5th grade robotics club and future programming adventures and projects.
These products will significantly help my youngest students better understand sequencing and developing algorithms by providing them with a hands on opportunity to practice these skills.
Students will be able to use them in my classroom and their homeroom teachers will have the ability to check them out as well to practice these skills in their own classrooms.
