This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Several of my students have signed up to be in my school's first Robotics Club. The club captured their attention and learning more about the mechanism and coding is appealing to them. The students are going to discover the power of coding as we use technology to code the path of the robot.
The plan is to open the world of technology with apps on this iPad.
The apps that we will be using are focused on gear technology and entry-level coding. The apps that will be downloaded will either be funded via a separate source of finance or are free to download. The apps include Crazy Gears, in which the students will be able to explore and solve the puzzles in each of the levels, with increasing complexity. Additional apps include Tynker Junior, Scratch Junior, and Hopscotch. We also would like to use the Osmo Coding Starter Kit.
Coding is essential knowledge in understanding and using equipment in the digital age. It promotes comprehension of technology in the student's environment. It contains answers to the age-old question of how things work. Using this iPad, in conjunction with appropriate STEM-related apps, will enhance the student's education and it will prepare our students for the future.
