My Students

At our school in Boston Public Schools, we educate students in grades K through 5. On a daily basis, we aim to provide a quality education in a safe and supportive environment, which respects the diversity of all individuals. We strive to develop responsible citizens and leaders, involve parents and community, and instill a love of learning in a nurturing atmosphere. We expect academic excellence and celebrate student achievement.

My classroom consists of resilient, intelligent children who lack the resources and funding to ensure access to equality in education.

I teach math to forty-one fifth graders. We have ten ELL students and six students who require an individualized education plan. More than half of our student population are economically disadvantaged. The environment in my classroom is one of hope, curiosity, risk taking, and kindness.

My Project

I am requesting a Wonder Workshop CUE Coding Robot for Kids. I will be using this resource for my STEM station during mathematics instruction. This technology will allow students to familiarize themselves with coding, which will be a critical business skill as they enter the work force in later years.

The majority of my students come from low-income families who struggle to gain access to technology.

The lack of resources results in an equity gap in our education system. I am asking for this resource in order to bridge this gap and provide students with opportunity to explore this emerging technology.
