My Students

We are a Title I school, which means that over 50% of our students are on free or reduced lunch.

We are a unique school with only grades 5 and 6 with over nine hundred seventy students. Recently, our school became AdcancED STEM Certified. We would like to expand our Robotics Club with a new LEGO MINDSTORMS Education kit in order to reach more students and continue to expand our STEM program.

My Project

Currently, we have a Robotics team called the Robo Lions that competes in local and state First LEGO League robotics competitions. Students have to work together to program and design a LEGO MINDSTORMS robot to be able to compete in various challenges. In order for our students to continue to participate in the competitions and expand the club, we need another LEGO MINDSTORMS Robotics kit.

The LEGO MINDSTORMS Robotics kit brings STEM education to life for our students.

It allows them to identify and solve real world problems. Students learn to apply science, technology, engineering, and math concepts to solve a problem. While students are working through the challenges, they are also learning valuable 21st century skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.
