What do I love about my students you ask? Simple. What I love about my students is the fact that even on my worst of days, my students can cheer me up instantly. That's a superpower of theirs, even if they don't know it yet. Society says that I'm supposed to inspire my students, but the reality is, my students inspire me. They inspire me to be a better teacher. To try things that I've never tried before (all I'm going to say is Fortnite, I understand why kids like it so much). To laugh at a mistake and to even give students a second chance when they have broken a classroom rule. I've learned that if you show your students even the slightest amount of love, they will replicate it 100 times more. So why hold back any fraction of love?
My students are AMAZING even without trying to be!
When you look forward to going to work, you've made the right career choice for yourself. I love what I do because I love the kids that I teach. Who wouldn't love smiling, laughing, teaching, and encouraging AMAZING kids every day!?
We have the books, now we need the vending machine! As a librarian, teacher, and parent, fostering a love for reading is not only paramount but vital in the success of any student. Finding ways to foster and encourage a love for reading is crucial, especially in a students’ beginning years.
Having a Book Vending machine will allow our school to have a school-wide incentive program that focuses on reading and the power of a good book!
This book vending machine will be available to all of our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. The vending machine will be filled with a variety of books from different genres, reading levels, and interests. Once a student earns a golden token, they will place the token in the vending machine and pick a book. The best part is that students will be able to keep the book and take it home to add to their own personal library!
