Road to Reading Part 3

My Students

My students are 21st-Century learners who are constantly seeking knowledge. They are always looking for ways to develop critical thinking, collaboration, problem solving, and personal responsibility in fun and engaging ways. English is not my students first language so they are learning to read and write for the first while also mastering a new language.

My Project

My students are second language learners who are working on reading and writing in English for the first time. They need hands on resources that make learning fun and encourages them to keep working towards their reading goals. The tools from this project will be used in multiple ways to foster independent and cooperative learning. Sight words are high frequency words that students should recognize on sight to aid in reading fluency. I am requesting several games including SightWord Seashells, Splash Sight-Words, Can Do! Sight-Words, Fishing for SightWords, and Tower of SightWords to help my students practice their skills in fun and different ways daily.
