My students need choral risers for concert performance as the ones that are in the school now are quite old and unsafe.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Chorus! What a better way to end a school day! Last period of the day my students come to me ready to sing and learn new music in preparation for a concert this holiday season. They need a safe set of risers to be able to show off the wonderful new skills they have been working on so far this year.

My school is in a low income area with a majority of students whose native language is not English and they face many challenges trying to learn the language as well as academic content.

Singing is a huge outlet for them and something they can succeed at almost instantly. Having a place to perform on safe choral risers in front of the school and parents would do wonders for their self esteem not to mention school success.

My Project

My chorus will be performing at least two major concerts during this school year. The risers will also be used on the stage as we embark on the first production of a musical in this school. The choral students will also be a huge part of this production and the choral risers will be used as part of the set on the stage.

As choral risers are a piece of equipment that is vital for any concert performance, my students will be able to stand proud and tall as they perform for there peers as well as family on new risers.
