The cardstock, plastic sleeves, and other materials have truly transformed how I design and deliver practice for my students.\r\n\r\nI use cardstock to create math problems that I post around the classroom for students to solve during movement-based activities. I place these cards inside plastic sleeves (also generously donated), which allows us to reuse them and keep everything organized and durable. Students enjoy rotating around the room, solving problems, and checking their work in an engaging and interactive way.\r\n\r\nWe also use color-by-number math activities, where students solve problems and match their answers to a color key to complete a picture. These activities have been especially helpful during MCAS days. For example, last week during ELA MCAS, students tested for half of the day and then came to math class in the afternoon. After a long and mentally exhausting testing session, these low-key, calming math activities helped students re-engage without feeling overwhelmed, while still practicing important skills.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, I am able to make math both rigorous and enjoyable.
