Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are brilliant, friendly, and curious. Unfortunately, my students struggle socioeconomically and don't have much support at home. Many of my students don't have access to Wi-Fi, devices, or books at home to help them learn and develop.

Oftentimes my students claim they don't like to read, but then they find a story that pulls them in and they can't stop looking for more and new interesting stories to read in their spare time.

Many of my students love to read but don't have the access or opportunity to access books that spark their interests. Others think they don't like to read, but would be more likely to pick up a book if they saw people like themselves in the pages. Nevada Academic Content Standard RL 7.10 asks that students read and comprehend literature at the high end of their grade complexity by the end of the year. The students in my class need access to these books so they can improve their reading skills.

My Project
