Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
JM Elementary School services K-5 students in Philadelphia. The families and neighbors here are close and supportive. Unfortunately, the student population is 100% economically disadvantaged.
At JM Elementary School, we are very proud of our school community.
We are a community of diverse students dedicated to becoming lifelong learners and productive citizens. All of the students here follow the 3 Rs which represent our core beliefs. The students are Respectful, Responsible and Ready.
My students will take full advantage of any generosity given to them. Thank you, for your consideration and time.
My Project
I am asking for a classroom set of Chromebooks and charging Cart for my school. My students all have access to Google Apps for education. Unfortunately they are unable to utilize the resources as the computer lab is typically used for reading and math interventions. A mobile lab of Chromebooks would allow me to visit classroom to classroom and give each individual student hands-on experience with Web 2.0 technology.
A classroom set of Chromebooks would allow my students to work collaboratively on presentations and projects.
My students would greatly benefit from the Chromebooks. Students will develop 21st century skills as they work on web based research projects, presentations. Utilizing Web 2.0 projects will develop student cooperation and much needed interest in STEM fields.
