Rewriting the Way We Teach History: a Project-Based Learning Initiative

My Project

The large white paper will support engaging, project-based learning experiences in high school World History classrooms by providing students with opportunities to actively interact with historical content in meaningful and collaborative ways. Students will use the materials to create timelines, historical maps, visual presentations, comparative analyses, and other hands-on projects that promote critical thinking, creativity, communication, and deeper historical understanding.

These activities are designed to support diverse learning styles and ability levels, ensuring that all students can meaningfully access and demonstrate mastery of course standards.

By increasing student engagement and encouraging active participation, these instructional strategies will strengthen content retention, improve analytical skills, and contribute to higher academic achievement and improved performance on classroom assessments and standardized tests.
