This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing and eager learners! The majority of my students are from low-income families, many speaking languages other than English and some living in difficult situations. Despite these obstacles, they come to school every day with smiles on their faces, ready to learn.

My students come to school wondering what we are going to learn about today!

They enter the room looking around to see what new activities are ready for them to work on. I try to make my classroom a place the students are eager to come to every school day!

My Project

"The most important 20 minutes of the day - read with your child!" This is the motto of our school district and a practice that benefits and begins with our youngest students. Each month our preschool students receive a reading log which is colored in as they read books with their families at home. When the logs are completed, they return them to school to share with the class and pick a prize from the prize bucket. These prizes will help us reward our students as they build these beneficial reading habits!
