This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This past school year, the PBIS team at our elementary school implemented a school store as a way to promote good choices and behavior and overall improve the culture and climate of the school. It was our hope that by having teachers and staff look for the positive in all students, we could change the way the students see themselves. This way, students will know they are all capable of making positive choices and showing good character.
Teachers and staff were able to reward and encourage students by giving them "bucks" so students could shop at the school store.
It was a hit! We have seen an improvement in our school culture, and behavior has improved. We are addressing the areas of being responsible, safe and respectful in school and the world around you.
