Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A student's poor performance is often attributed to a lack of motivation. In an effort to increase the motivation on student achievement, rewards are given. Does this work? YES! Because young kids aren't completely conscious of the end goal of going to school; all they know is that mom or dad send them to a place with way more crayons than they have at home. So, particularly with ESE Pre-K learners, a rewards system can do wonders to focus their attention.

Besides providing verbal praise to kids with a learning disability like Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), physical rewards like a fidget toy will help them learn best because touching something with their hands or mouth help them to focus and expel energy.

Having a Treasure Box with a variety of rewards for ESE Pre-K students will motivate them to be more productive because rewards create a feeling of pride and achievement. Please help me create a helpful Treasure Box for my students during my first year as an ESE teacher.
