This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
This school year, I had the pleasure of sponsoring an after school Lego club for about 30 3rd-5th graders! We met weekly, building and creating together. Our final project was a Lego city, filled with various sets and original builds they'd worked on over the course of a few months.
Lego club has sadly ended for this year, but I'm already planning for next year, and I want to kick it up a notch by offering a Lego robotics after school club!
As a science teacher, I'm always looking for ways to offer students opportunities to engage in STEM in fun and engaging ways. What's more fun than mixing Legos, engineering, robotics, and coding!? I'm also hoping that these materials could come in handy during my science classes, as I'm teaching the new computer science standards next year!
I'm hoping to get these materials now, prior to the start of the coming school year, to give me adequate time to experiment with them myself before putting them in front of students!
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this project! I can't wait for students to get their hands on these sets!
