Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students need healthy snacks to remain focused and energized in class. Snacks can help encourage concentration and re-energize tired students. We are also in desperate need of another set of ABC stamps to help them progress in their word work!

As Maslow puts it in his hierarchy of needs, food is at the base.

When a food need is not met, nothing else can function. Having snacks for students will provide this basic human need. Many of my students come from very low-income households and school is the only source of nutrition that they receive. Although the school lunches are getting better, the students are still frequently complaining of being hungry and needing food.

Healthy snacks, like these, will ensure students will be successful in the classroom because they will have brain food. These snacks will offer students a variety of healthy options that will give them a bigger boost during their work day.
