Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 1st grade at a Title I-funded school where 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students struggle when it comes to academics because many of them do not have the necessary tools at home to achieve their academic goals. My students come from low-income families, where some of my students' parents have to work two jobs to be able to provide the necessities for their children.

My Project

Access to these educational resources will give me the ability to select engaging activities to extend the read-aloud used in the library. The air purifier will keep us safe in these very unpredictable times. I will have access to phenomenal lessons which will extend the comprehension component of the read-aloud, as well as, hands-on activities to extend the books used in the whole group setting.

Laminating sheets help reuse material and allow it to clean and disinfect material when being shared.

These activities will also give students the ability to build independent thinkers as they complete each activity, ensuring understanding.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
