Sometimes, students have needs besides learning content. A few of the most often requested items are band-aids, deodorant, and snacks. You would be surprised how many times middle schoolers need (or want!) a band-aid. Students can stay in class and not take a trip to the nurse's office if I have band-aids to give them. The mints help with headaches, stomachaches, and perking up a tired adolescent. Pretzels, crackers, and popcorn are good to have available when students need a snack. The cups will be attached to our water cooler for when students need hydrated. The deodorant, well that's nearly always needed in a middle school classroom!
