I have a group of 18 second graders that live in New Mexico. Our classroom is bright with many smiling faces. Every student in our classroom receives free and reduced breakfast. No matter students' life situations, students find a safe, nurturing, and loving environment in our classroom. It is also a place where I try to provide my students with many opportunities to learn creatively, courageously, and collaboratively.
My second graders are fast pace (perhaps like their Chicago-born teacher).
Our room is active with students working in self-selected places around the room. Supplies, paper, and bodies are often spread out all around our room. Our fast pace room means that our supplies have to uphold this fast pace learning style and slowly it has been diminishing.
My Project
We have completely filled our math notebooks and our writing notebooks. All the supplies listed are resources that our classroom started with in the beginning of the year but overtime, they have diminished.
Our second grade classroom runs very smoothly when supplies is available for students to use at all points of our day.
Without the supplies listed, our procedures and our activities become difficult to accomplish. The notebooks will provide every student with a new math journal and writing journal. The pencils, dry erase markers, index cards, glue sticks, highlighters, and folders will help us throughout they day with our activities. We need supplies like dice, bean bag fillers, ipad screen protectors, dry erase boards, and anchor chart paper because these things have been broken or lost.
These resources will help replenish the supplies we once have and make 2018 a fresh start for our second grade classroom.
