My Students

Second graders are curious and have incredibly creative minds. There is never a dull moment in our room and there are always questions flying out of their minds as they learn and grow as learners and human beings.

At any time, you can walk into my room and at least half of the students will have their noses buried in books.

They love to learn and love to learn new things through their reading.

My Project

My classroom is filled with wonderful books, but my books aren't the newest or most up-to-date. I want to give my students a chance to see themselves in the books on our shelves! Whether this be with characters physically alike or characters facing similiar problems, my goal is for my students to get lost in reading!

Learning about new and different cultures gives young students a chance to become invested in more than themselves.

These specific books will allow them to learn about cultures, holidays, and specific people that have changed the world for better!
