My students are a "melting pot" English Learners (ELs), a diverse population of students that speak various languages at home. They are creative, fun, unique, and adds their awesome personalities to the class. They come from different social-economical statuses, cultures, and backgrounds. Many students come from families and backgrounds with discord, so I want to create a safe space for students within my classroom (virtual or on campus, where ever it may be). I am lucky to be teaching them this year, but with Distance Learning happening, this will be a challenge for many of us, but we're determined that we will get through it together!
My Project
I am looking for new books to use as resources for our ELs to develop their English proficiency and become successful learners in their content area and other classes. The books we have in our school within the EL department are over ten years old, used and torn, so I would like to have a new set of resources that I can provide to our students. These set of books will be used thoroughly for each student to meet individual needs! The previous edition of some of these books have been used quite a lot in the past, so some fresh books would definitely be of great use starting this year!
