Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The plan for my classroom resource reset area is for students to have a safe area where students can go when they start feeling anxious, and overwhelmed and find that they are having a hard time managing their emotions. By having a safe place student are better able to manage their feelings so that they can return to learning and complete assignments.

The goal for this designated area is for students to have a safe place to decompress, lower their anxiety, and be able to go back to class.

Having a coloring book, fidget toys, a weighted stuffed animal, or a wiggle chair can help. Having the necessary tools/objects, students are then able to make the connections between their feelings, thoughts, behaviors, and events that they are going through.

My students have been identified with a learning disability and most have difficulty expressing their feelings or just need extra time to process the content to be able to actively participate in the classroom and academic tasks.
