Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a eighth year teacher working on my first year trying flexible seating. I teach in a low-income/Title I school district, and my students face several challenges both in and out of the classroom.

Despite the hardships they have faced, they are resilient and spirited learners making their way back.

They like to move, they love to read and love lots of positive attention. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able personally to solve the many challenges they face outside of school. However, I can certainly make a powerful impact on the eight hours they spend here at school every day.

My Project

We have some 3D printers in our classroom and we use them in a variety of ways for educational and recreational activities for the students and the school. We have made many things with the 3D printer. For example we had some students create prototypes of their science experiment to have as a demonstration at the science fair.

We would like to get more resin so that we can continue to print more great things.

Resin is the ingredient used to make these items in a 3D printer and you go through quite a bit of it if you are making things constantly. With these 15 bottles we should be able to continue going for some time.
