Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
4th graders are curious about everything!! 4th graders are also funny, innocent, and adventurous in their quest for knowledge. Our community here has a wide range of socioeconomic levels. We have parents who are completely dedicated to the success of their students along with uninvolved parents. Being a small, rural community, many of our students must travel to experiences and adventures through books, internet or television. This is why I want to provide some differing opportunities for those students.
In our classrooms we are learning to be problem solvers and independent thinkers through a variety of mediums utilizing technology to enhance our goal.
Giving students the ability to showcase their personalities and individual interests will allow them to find strengths and talents within themselves.
Using technology with my students will encourage more engagement in a variety of activities. Students being able to watch tutorial videos, take notes on teacher made videos, interact during our lessons, and use apps or programs to help with our concepts will engage and encourage my students to be successful.
My Project
Students will be using the Apple iPad to research and explore varying topics. Students will be encouraged to interview people, search for thoughts or information on their topic on the Apple iPad and gain a deeper understanding of what they are studying. Students will then report their findings using the LimoStudio Green Screen Kit and apps on the Apple iPad. Once they have recorded their findings, they will report their broadcast.
