My Project

I love my students so much. Almost all of my students have a very low income. I want to provide a wonderful art classroom by allowing the children to have access to decent supplies to be able to draw. I want my students to draw white drawings on black paper because they are used to doing plain coloring sheets due to having a substitute for so long.

I want my children to experience the relief of art class the same way I have.

As a child, I always spent most of my time making art, but my love for art class was more than just a place for where I wanted to draw. Art class served me as a place to be myself. When I was young, I had severe social anxiety, which is why I did not talk to students or the teachers when I was called on. With the support from my art teacher, I built enough self-confidence from excelling in art class. Art class was the first time I felt comfortable enough to raise my hand and answer a question in front of my peers.

My children deserve the basic supplies needed to draw in art class. I hope that art class provides a safe space in the school, so that they are motivated and ready to learn each and every day.
