Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My future students are an exciting group of amazing young people. I met most of them, as they passed by my classroom door, last school year. I haven't seen them since the pandemic started and I won't physically meet them at the beginning of this school year.

My students will have a school Chromebook for their virtual learning, but I want to mail them physical books.

Why? My students are emergent, early, and transitional readers. A physical book will help them practice reading as they read along with me.

My Project

I chose guided reading books based on my students' reading levels from last school year. I chose books with diverse characters because I believe representation matters. If you are able to see yourself in literature, then you are able to connect better with it.

You will be supporting/sponsoring the love of reading within my students.

With your help, I will mail books to my students and lead guided reading groups virtually. They will have an incredibly rich reading experience because they will get to keep the books.
