This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a low-socioeconomic status community and are all born from immigrant families. Both the students and their families are a wonderful part of our Bilingual Program where the students are juggling two languages, English and Spanish, on a daily basis. They succeed in their learning by doing their best in school, and from the excellent support, they receive at home. Our school is a great community that holds students from Kindergarten to 8th Grade. It is a welcoming environment, where children's laughter is always heard. The dedicated teachers and staff at our school love what they do and truly understand, and have, what it takes to teach children at the beginning of their schooling career.

My Project

We are fast approaching the 100th day of school, which can only mean our classroom is running low on necessary supplies.

Around this time each year, I do my best to replenish all of the supplies my students use on a daily basis, but it is no easy task.

My students are running low on classroom basics like pencils, erasers, dry erase markers and more. Our current classroom sharpener has been well loved and is starting to stall, making it difficult for my students to keep their pencils sharp. I hope to bring them these everyday supplies to keep our learning on the move for the second half of the school year.
