My Project

My scholars worked hard in 2023 and have intentions to soar even higher in 2024. We would like to replenish some of our supplies to help us get a smooth start for success in our second semester.

Art is not only a social-emotional practice that cultivates peace, but it also is a positive way to cultivate students' creativity.

My scholars will create "Inside Out" self-portraits to share unique qualities people see and don't see about themselves. My scholars enjoy using art as a way to share their identities, to share what they're learning, and for a calming experience. The tempera paint sticks and card stock will be exciting new tools for them to use for their self-portraits. The pencil sharpener is needed because my students use both regular writing pencils and colored pencils during art and in other subject areas.

We also need more toner for our classroom printer because the school does not always have it in stock. When my students write poetry to accompany their artwork, I like to print their colorful poetry to display on the classroom walls. The Sharpie markers are also part of our art curriculum. Many of our art lessons require a bold outline of shapes and patterns.
