This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As I started my second year of teaching with several new faces and familiar faces I realized I was just as nervous as they were. I was curious to see who lost a tooth or grew taller. I was astonished to see so many smiling faces on the first day of school. And to my surprise the first thing my second graders asked me sos did I have any brown boxes for them to open. Boy, do they love surprises!
I guess I can say teaching three grades at the same time has its perks.
I made some new relationships and polished up old ones.
My Project
By providing my students with basic supplies such as sticky notes, crayons, highlighter, binders, and etc they can carry on with their day not having to worry about not having the basic supplies to get their work completed. They will be able to come to class every morning knowing they have the supplies needed to get their workday started. My students will also no have to worry about being embarrassed about not having supplies they can't afford. That's why it is important that I keep supplies ready and available in my classroom at all times for my students to use at any given time.
