Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Class room furniture is something that is always overlooked when teachers ask for donations because it's too expensive. But it makes a HUGE difference in the way our children see school. Can you imagine going to elementary school with desks that are rusted, different sizes, broken and falling over? Desks that don't even fit together to work in groups because they're a bunch of random leftover desks from other rooms?

First graders need space to work together comfortably.

If we want to set young children up for success, we have to give them the tools they need to FEEL successful. There is loads of research that shows how a child's classroom impacts their learning. My students are readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists.. They are kind, eager to learn, and make the best out of every situation. But most importantly, they are deserving.

Please help me give my students a warm, inviting classroom that makes them feel safe, valued, and loved. Help me teach them that education is important by providing them with new and improved desks. Help me show them that the world cares about them and their education. We will be forever thankful.
