This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come from low-income environments where they qualify for free breakfast and lunch. We are in need of replenishing materials that were used up during our first semester together. Having everything that you need while at school prepares students for daily work and gives them a sense of security that they otherwise may not have. Without these essentials, some students might feel overwhelmed or unequipped. By having what they need in the beginning, our students can practice their classroom work in real time and be prepared for the day.

This project is to ensure my students have the proper materials needed for the second semester of kindergarten.

Currently, my students are in need of the following: mini dry-erase lap boards, washable paint, dry-erase markers, and more items for classroom use.

We currently utilize a plastic insert sheet for our math mini-lessons as a makeshift whiteboard. The majority of them through time and use have been worn down. We would utilize the whiteboards individually to work on different math skills together. With the 26 sets, each student would receive a small marker and eraser to go along with their boards. The double-sided expo markers are used to promote good behavior in the classroom. Students who have behaved well can use the selected marker for the day they arThe washable paint and scissors are needed for our art center. We make monthly crafts and would like to provide our students with rich experiences to create what their minds tell them to.
